After a phase of strategic consolidation and in parallel to conducting a group-wide transformation process GG Group is expanding its global footprint by establishing an additional production plant in Russe, Bulgaria.

As a globally active manufacturer of technically advanced high-quality wires and harnesses for automotive and industrial applications, GG has been globalizing its footprint already since 2010. The focus on the growth areas of the automotive industry since then, in particular e-mobility, autonomous driving and industry digitalization in parallel with the group's transformation process actively initiated in 2022, have led to full order books.

The planned volume growth beginning in financial year 2023/24 will require an expansion of global production capacities from 2024/25 financial year onwards, which is not reasonably feasible at the existing sites in Poysdorf, Austria, Mikulov, Czech Republic, Bălți, Moldova, San Juan del Río, Mexico and Shenyang, China.

As a result of a multi-stage decision-making process, the establishment of an initially 13,000 m² plant with around 100 employees in Russe, Bulgaria was decided, and we are expecting the foundation stone to be laid by the end of this year. GG is thus responding to the immediate requirements of its customers for additional production capacity in an economically attractive and politically stable region. The Russe site convinced with its favorable geographical location near the border to Romania, economically advantageous demographic conditions and the possibility of further enlargements in the long-term perspective.

Especially at the beginning the new plant will have a clear product focus on HV harnesses for e-mobility for renowned European car manufacturers. However, for further development, expansion in other segments will also be possible.
